There are 26 alphabets in the English language. They are:
It is very important to know all the alphabet sounds.
Many grammar concepts, formation of words & spellings, phonetics, etc. are dependent on the alphabets & their sounds.

Consonants are a speech sounds which are made when the airflow is partially or completely blocked by the tongue, lips, teeth or any other parts of the mouth.
It is a speech sound which is not a vowel.

The speech sound of vowels is made without any blockage of air due the parts of the mouth.
There are 5 vowel letters:
The letter 'Y' sometimes acts as a vowel.

Words come together to form meaningful sentences, phrases, clauses, etc.
This helps us to communicate thoughts, ideas, actions, objects, etc.
