phrase
is a
group of words
working
together
as one unit.
Features:
It
adds meaning
to the sentence.
It is a
part
of the sentence.
It makes sense but
not complete sense.
It
cannot stand on it's own
.
It does
not
have a
finite verb.
They contain
infinitives
&
non-finite verbs.
It does
not
have a
subject & predicate.
It
depends on other words
in the sentence for clarity.
It provides
clarity, additional information or details
in a sentence.
Examples:
It is easy
to find fault.
I love
clicking pictures.
The children like
to watch cartoons.
